| Cebu tour operators encourage good news; we agree! |
During the Cebu Business Month ASEAN Tourism Congress held in early June 2007, the Cebu Association of Tour Operators (CATO) called for Philippine media to give more prominence to positive tourism developments in the country, focusing on promoting Cebu hotels, attractions, and hot spots.
The Cebu Midtown Hotel in Cebu couldn't agree more with CATO spokesperson Alice Queblatin, as well as Lydia Castillo, who encouraged national dailies to project a good image of the country instead of reporting excessively on celebrity gossip and crime. We at this budget hotel in Cebu strive to meet the standards that Castillo identified as noteworthy for news: promotes positive Filipino values, emphasizes tourist destinations, and is a good representative of Philippine culture. We enjoin all other Cebu hotels to join the call to give positive Cebu tourism news prominence in mainstream media.
